Copyright Policy

Last Updated: April 6, 2026

At Fated, we provide the tools for creators to build immersive, interactive worlds. However, those worlds must be your own. Callisto Media Corp. ("Fated," "we," "us") respects the intellectual property (IP) rights of others and expects our users and creators to do the same.

In accordance with the Canadian Copyright Act and the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), we have implemented the following procedures for reporting alleged copyright infringement on our platform.

Our Stance on Intellectual Property

Our "story engine" is designed for original creativity. We have a zero-tolerance policy for the unauthorized use of third-party IP. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Unauthorized Fan Fiction: Using characters, settings, or plots from established franchises.

  • Plagiarism: Copying text directly from other authors or AI models without authorization.

  • Media Infringement: Using copyrighted images or cover art that you do not own the rights to.

Creators who violate these rules are subject to immediate content removal, withholding of revenue share payouts, and permanent account termination.

How to Report Infringement (Notice of Infringement)

If you are a copyright owner or an authorized agent and believe that any content on the Fated App infringes upon your copyrights, you may submit a written notification to our Designated Copyright Agent (details below).

To be effective, your notice must include:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (e.g., a link to your original book or a registration number).

  2. Identification of the infringing material on Fated, including the specific Story Title and, if possible, the Story ID or URL.

  3. Your contact information, including your name, physical address, telephone number, and email address.

  4. A "Good Faith" statement that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

  5. An "Accuracy" statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Counter-Notification (Appealing a Takedown)

If your Creator Content was removed due to a copyright notice and you believe this was a mistake (for example, you have a license or the use qualifies as "Fair Use"), you may send us a counter-notice.

Your counter-notice must include:

  • Identification of the material that was removed.

  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.

  • Your name, address, and telephone number.

  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in Vancouver, British Columbia (or the judicial district where you reside if elsewhere).

  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Repeat Infringer Policy

Fated takes IP theft seriously to protect the integrity of our Creator Program. We will terminate the accounts of any users or creators who are determined to be "repeat infringers". A repeat infringer is defined as any user who has been notified of infringing activity more than twice or has had content removed from the App on more than two occasions.

A Note for Creators

Before you hit "Publish" in the story engine, ask yourself: Did I create this character? Did I write this world? If the answer is "No," or "It’s based on [X]," don't post it. Protecting your original work starts with respecting the work of others.
