Introduction
Callisto Media Corp., a British Columbia corporation doing business as Fated ("Fated," "we," "us," or "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Fated mobile and web application (the "App").
By accessing or using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, which governs your use of the App.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.

We do not require your real name, date of birth, phone number, physical address, or any other personal identifiers as a condition of using the App.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage data:
| Category | What We Collect | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Device Info | Device model, operating system & version, unique device identifiers | To ensure the App runs correctly on your device |
| Log Data | IP address, access times, pages/screens viewed, app activity, referring URLs | To diagnose issues, analyse trends, and improve the service |
| Interaction Data | Story choices, text inputs to the AI, reading progress, feature usage | To maintain story continuity, personalise the experience, and improve the AI |
Payment Information
We do not directly collect, store, or process your credit card numbers or financial account details. All payment transactions are handled by:
- Apple — for App Store purchases (governed by Apple's privacy policy).
- Google — for Google Play purchases (governed by Google's privacy policy).
- Stripe — for web-based purchases (governed by Stripe's privacy policy).
We may receive limited transaction confirmation data from these processors, such as purchase amount, date, and subscription status.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Providing the Service. To create and manage your account, save your story progress, deliver personalised AI-generated narrative responses, and ensure the App functions properly.
- Improving the App. To analyse anonymised and aggregated interaction data to improve our narrative models, fix bugs, identify trends, and enhance the user experience.
- Communications. To send you service-related notices (such as account verification, security alerts, and policy updates), and to respond to your inquiries and support requests.
- Safety & Compliance. To monitor for and prevent activities that violate our Terms of Service or applicable law, and to protect the safety and security of our users and the App.
- Legal Obligations. To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal data for interest-based advertising. We do not share your data with data brokers.
AI Data Processing
The App uses generative AI to produce narrative content. Here's how your data is involved:
- Input processing. Your in-app text inputs and story choices are sent to AI systems to generate real-time narrative responses. This is essential to the App's core functionality.
- De-identification. We take reasonable steps to strip personally identifiable information from any data used for general model improvements, analytics, or quality assurance.
- Third-party AI providers. We use third-party AI service providers, including but not limited to Anthropic, Google, and Mistral AI, to power the narrative engine. These providers process your inputs solely for the purpose of generating responses and are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own independent purposes, including training their own general-purpose models on your specific inputs.
- Aggregated training data. Anonymised and aggregated interaction data may be used to improve our proprietary narrative models. This data does not identify you personally.
Sharing & Disclosure
We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers. With trusted third-party providers who perform services on our behalf, including AI processing, cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, and payment processing. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to use your data only as necessary to deliver services to us and to maintain appropriate security measures.
- Legal Requirements. When we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our Terms of Service; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers. In connection with any merger, acquisition, reorganisation, sale of assets, financing, or transfer of all or a portion of our business. In such an event, your personal information may be transferred as a business asset, subject to the commitments made in this Privacy Policy.
- With Your Consent. We may share your information with third parties when you have explicitly directed us or given us your consent to do so.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
When you access the App through a web browser, we may use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and session tokens) for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies. Necessary for authentication, session management, and core App functionality. These cannot be disabled without losing access to the App.
- Analytics. We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how users interact with the App in aggregate. We do not use analytics data to build individual user profiles for advertising.
We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not participate in ad networks or behavioural advertising.
Do Not Track
There is no industry consensus on how to respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals. We do not currently respond to DNT signals, but we also do not track users across third-party websites.
App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
For iOS users, we respect Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. We will request your explicit permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps or websites.

As a company headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, we comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable British Columbia privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Your data may be stored on secure servers located in Canada or the United States. Where your data is transferred outside of Canada, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law and that the receiving jurisdiction provides an adequate level of protection.
We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

- Provide you with the App and its services.
- Comply with our legal obligations (including tax and financial reporting).
- Resolve disputes and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Prevent fraud and abuse.
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within thirty (30) days, unless longer retention is required by law. Anonymised and aggregated data that does not identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and research purposes.
